My name is Rooksana Sultana
and I am currently enrolled in the second term of The Medical Office
Administration Program.
In
this blog I will be talking about what oral hygiene is? And why is it necessary
in our daily life? Oral health is not only important to your appearance and
sense of well-being, but also to your health. Moreover, I will also discuss the
negative effects of poor oral hygiene at your office and several ways of
maintaining good oral hygiene.
I have
chosen to focus on importance of oral hygiene at work place in this blog
assignment because I think oral hygiene is crucial throughout the day, not just
in the morning and evenings. That means you need to pay attention to your teeth
and gums even while you are at work. It is very hard to keep up with your oral
care at the office. The five steps to make oral hygiene easier at office are:

- Stock
up on supplies – keep you toothbrush, paste and dental floss stored at
your workstation.
- Eat for optimal mouth health – try to avoid sugary food.
- Chew Gum – this helps to cleanse your teeth.
- Remember
that water is wonderful – always have it on your desk as it keeps you hydrated
and removes bacteria by vigorously swishing your mouth with water.
I am also going to discuss
the characteristics of a good toothbrush, proper brushing technique, flossing
technique and use of mouthwash in my coming post.
